But before giving away all of our dirty little secrets, we’d like to present a quick ‘PowerPoint’ on why eating weed cookies is good, and not only for your health but a powerful way to medicate.
Here we go!
Why Weed Cookies are so Damn Good
Weed cookies are more than a delicious snack that fills your belly and soul. They provide an incredible option for intaking medication. Of course, this all sounds fine and dandy, how could combining cannabis with butter and sugar not turn out great?
But the real magic lies in the way our bodies process cannabis ingested orally.
You may have heard from some folks that edibles seem to hit them harder than smoking or vaping. Certain people may even claim to achieve a psychedelic state of being from them. The truth is they’re not lying, ingesting weed cookies do make for a more potent high than your conventional methods of consumption.
The stronger effect is due to the way our body metabolizes cannabis orally. When THC passes through our lives, it converts to 11-hydroxy-THC, a compound that’s an estimated 10x stronger than THC.
Now that’s how you get the most from your weed stash.
And speaking of getting the most…
When you bake or cook your cannabis, the required dose is much lower to achieve the therapeutic benefits. For patients that require large doses to relieve their symptoms, smoking or vaping the desired amount is a great way to burn a hole in their lungs and wallets. Well, not quite, but you get the picture.
But wait, there’s more!
If you’re thinking to yourself, that’s great, but the taste of weed is off putting, and the last thing you want is ingesting a mouth full of resin, we get you. But in today’s day and age, weed cookies no longer taste like an ashtray.
With the introduction of THC distillate, baking takes on a flavourless experience with the same great high.
Of course, using cannabutter produces a well-rounded experience, but the use of THC distillate is a sure-fire way to make the tastiest cookies your mother and grandmother would be proud of.
Now that we’ve got all that covered, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and pull out the baking tray. We’re about to make the world’s tastiest Red Velvet Weed Cookies!
How to Make Red Velvet Weed Cookies
Red velvet weed cookies require little to no prior experience in the kitchen. Follow these simple steps, and you’re on your way to impressing your friends and loved ones.
As previously mentioned, there are a few methods for making edibles. You can go the cannabutter route, which is easy to make(insert link). But, for all intents and purposes, we’ll be using THC Distillate as it doesn’t affect the flavour and has an accurate dosage.
However, the decision is yours!
Prep Time: 1 Hour and 10
Minutes Cook Time: 10-12 minutes
Total Time: 2.5 Hours (Includes Cooling Time)
Yield: 18 cookies
- 200 grams of all-purpose flour
- ¼ Cup of cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon of Baking Soda
- ¼ teaspoon of salt
- ½ cup of unsalted butter at room temperature
- 150 grams of brown sugar
- 50g of sugar
- 1 large egg at room temperature
- 1 tablespoon of milk
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- A handful of chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon of red food colouring
- 400 grams of THC distillate: Each cookie will have roughly 22 Grams of THC. Adjust for desired strength.
In a large bowl, whisk the cocoa powder, flour, baking soda and salt. Once thoroughly mixed, set the bowl aside.
With a mixer or a handheld paddle, beat the butter up! Scrape the mixture to the bottom of the and proceed to mix in the sugars. Let sit for a minute.
With the same mixer, add in the THC Distillate, egg, vanilla, milk, scraping the bowl as necessary to ensure the ingredients mix. Once the ingredients have taken the form of a batter, add in the food colouring and slowly mix until the batter becomes doughy. Now, proceed to add the chocolate chips.
Take your batter and cover it with aluminum foil. You want it to be as airtight as possible. If it fits, put the dough in the fridge, if not, let it sit somewhere cool. You MUST let it sit for at least an hour, or else the cookies will be disappointing, to say the least.
While your dough is getting ready, preheat the oven to 350F or 180C.
Step 5: 1 Hour Later
Now that our dough has cooled off, line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Scoop 1.5 tablespoons worth of dough and gently roll them into a ball. Each tray will fit 9 cookies.
Place your weed cookies in the oven and watch your creation come to life! They’ll take 10 to 12 minutes, but keep an eye out in case.
Remove the cookies from the oven and give them the desired shape if they’re still looking spherical. We want to leave the dough slightly “underdone” to provide them with a chewy texture. In reality, they’re fully cooked.
Have fun Medicating
Not only do these cookies taste great and get you stoned, but they’re also easy and fun to make. If this got your mind swirling, thinking about more recipes to make, don’t worry, you’re not the only one.
Remember, enjoy responsibly; these aren’t the types of cookies you can keep munching on. Eating too many may lead to an uncomfortable green out, so start with half a cookie and see how you feel. Eat more as necessary.
Also, while it’s redundant to say, these are not safe for children. If there are kids in the household, put them in a hard to reach place and in a childproof container.
Well there you have it, we hope you’ve liked baking Red Velvet Weed Cookies with us, until next time and happy snacking.
