Weed candies are a great way to medicate without the need to vape or smoke your cannabis.

What’s more, making cannabis candies is as easy as it gets. You don’t need to be Gordon Ramsy to create delicious marijuana candies. In reality, you will be using only just a few tools, basic ingredients and some patience.

So if you have a sweet tooth and you love cannabis, you’ve come to the right place! Today, we will be outlining how to make delicious weed lollipops and what to know before making weed candies.

But before we dive into recipes and culinary aspects, let’s talk about what cannabis-infused candy is and why it’s great.

What is Weed Candy?

Weed candy is an edible infused with cannabis. Straightforward, right?

If you don’t know what edibles are, they are cannabis-based food products. Cannabis edibles are available in many forms, from weed gummies to brownies to pot cakes to lollipops and candies.

What’s excellent about edibles is that they allow you to medicate without having to smoke or vaporize cannabis, providing a healthier and more accessible consumption method for cannabis users.

Edibles vs Smoking: Is There a Difference?

Additionally, while pot edibles take a bit more time to kick in, they also last longer, providing hours of relief. This makes edibles ideal for those looking for continuous relief and more potent effects.

Finally, weed edibles taste sensational. Edibles like pot candies, cookies, or gummies are usually prepared using THC distillate, which is tasteless and odourless. In other words, your cannabis edibles will taste like regular sweets.

What Should You Know Before Cooking Edibles?

If you’ve decided to make weed lollipops and candies, there are a few key things to know before you get started.

As we already said, edibles affect differently, sometimes taking hours before the effects ‘kick in.’ Therefore it is paramount not to bite off more than you can chew!

With edibles, you’ll want to be cautious and patient, start low, and go slow. You can even start with half of the recommended dose of the edible.

Another critical factor to be aware of is decarboxylation. Without decarboxylation, your THCA won’t convert into activated THC, and your edibles won’t be able to get you high!

Decarboxylation activates the compounds in your cannabis flower and makes it psychoactive.

How Long Do Edibles Last? – A Guide To Dosing

Keep in mind that most cannabis products, such as pre-made tinctures and oils, are already decarboxylated and don’t need to be heated in order to activate them.

Finally, look into your products and research what is inside them to better understand their potential effects.

For example, CBD edibles don’t get you high and are widely used for their medical effects, while THC-rich cannabis products are known to induce powerful psychoactive effects.
